... it as Jago would never have forgiven me. So settled for lunch and a swim in the sea instead. For dinner we struck gold. We were lucky to get a table at Tipico. The staff were great, everyone in the kitchen even the washing up lady seemed to be enjoying themselves. German cars, German license plates everywhere, trailers, campers and food lots of food. So what did eat..yup.. Italian . It was great and coincided nicely with the torrential downpour ... Crazy rain and wind...streets were overflowing but nothing that some red sauce and gnocchi couldn't cure! Went back to our rented apartment and slept like the driving dead... More ...

... was much more relaxing.... Umm I mean better....safer? Whatever... We headed towards the small town of Motovun. Supposedly this is Mario Andretti's home town. It, like many midevil towns we see, has a castle perched high a top a small mountain with a church and many small home stacked around it.... The base typically has smaller farms and homes that were not afforded the protection of the castles defenses.... It was many an Italian speaking town ...
