Steve & Joanne packed up earlier than we did and headed home. They took Chris & Kevin with them. The girls all wanted to head back to Chocolate World for some last minute shopping. Sami & I spend the morning packing up while the girls were shopping. We left around noon to head home. The trip home tooks us 10 hours. We first stopped for lunch about …
Funny how the representative at the campground didn't mention the freight train tracks that run VERY closely to the campground. Nor did they mention that the trains ran one after the other ALL NIGHT!Those of us in the camper survived better than those in the tent. When we closed the windows and turned on the air, we were able to sleep through the …
As usual, we were off to a bit of a late start. The boys, Sami and I were all packed and ready to go. Stephanie, Shereen, Rianna & Brigid Sheridan arrived around midnight last night. All of there stuff was still in the foyer of the house. Our plans were to leave at 9:00am. Kate Nalley pulled up right at 9:00 am as promised. (Stephanie really …

TravelPod Member ReviewsHershey Highmeadow Campground Hummelstown
The first time my two best friends, my twin brother and i went to Hershey high meadow we knew we were going to have a blast. Once we had arrived to the campground we all headed to the front desk to get our key to the rustic cabin where we stayed since we don't like sleeping in tents and can't afford an RV. The employees are so nice and helpful too. There was also a shopping area/ gift shop, and an arcade which was awesome. Now the cabin we stayed in had 1 bed, 1 bunk bed, mini fridge, TV, microwave, air conditioning, heat, fire pit to cook food, and a cabinet to put clothes in. When we drove the car to our cabin it looked pretty small but actually was big inside. Once we unpacked our stuff we all headed down to the swimming pool where we swam for at least 2 hours. the campsite has 2 pools. One big pool and a smaller one for little children. The life guards are well trained and really friendly. my friends and i would play water ball or cannon ball competitions. While swimming we met a family and started talking to them and playing water games with there kids who were nice.
Once we finished swimming we went to the arcade to play some games for 45 minutes. My favorite game was DDR( dance dance revolution). Once we finished that we went to the store/ gift shop which was next door and got our tickets to Hershey park and candy. The gift shop was so awesome because they sell anything for your tent, RV, etc... Once we finished with that we headed back to our cabin for lunch then we decided to play some sports at the big field which is near the pool and playground. We all played basketball, volleyball, catch with a tennis ball, badminton, and Frisbee.
Night time is the best because you can start your campfire right next to your cabin( there are 3 types of cabins. Rustic, extended, and deluxe cabin which has a bathroom/shower, kitchen, 1 bed, bunk bed, sofa bed.) I bought myself a grill at the campgrounds gift shop for 20.00 and used the fire pit for Smores then bond fire.
If anyone likes Hershey park the campground has a shuttle bus that takes you to the park then back to the campground.
I would definitely recommend this campground because its a great place for children, parents, the elderly, etc..., the employees are so friendly too, its near Hershey park and you will enjoy it there. if not then give it a try. I will be going there for the 3rd time.
