... lesson.

That night we mentioned to Roland (the manager) about how wild the ugandans went for grasshoppers, thirty seconds later he returned with a plate of them. Surprisingly tasted a bit like chicken (skin). Not bad.

Heading to Queen Elizabeth National Park next, we have been recommended a place where hippo's wander through the camp at night. Midnight wee's will have to be kept in.

... 30 minutes and we arrived at the Ruhija gorilla center.

We met our guide Christopher, who ran over the rules for our trek. We would be visiting the Bitukura group which is made up of 4 Silver Backs, 2 Black Backs (younger males, they get their silver backs at about age 13), 3 Adult Females, 2 Juveniles and 2 Infants. This is an average size group we’re told.

Everyone here is dreading how long we might have to trek so our spirits are soon lifted ...

Truck stuck in Kabale!

... days break from the long drives.

We had a very long drive on some fairly average roads, in some places they seemed very narrow with lots of big trucks coming the other way.

We impressed everyone by getting out our Rob DJ’s Monday Night Pub Quiz book which Helen ordered off Amazon before we left. We played a couple of rounds which was very ...

It was time to drive back to Kigali and so it was we headed back down the road from whence we came, this time able to see just how beautiful Rwanda is *ok, Echalotte took the back seat and nodded off, clearly fully adjusted to African Massage c/o potholes galore*.

We made it to Kigali for 2.30pm, and drove into the Kigali Memorial Centre after a 5 minute wait to let the UN 8 car or jeep strong convoy past. Echalotte expressed his anxiety at my ability to deal with ...

... 90), or going to a Pigmy village($10). I’ve already paid to see enough animals and I didn’t want to pay to see some more. And I hardly knew who Dian Fossey was before this trip so I had the easy choice of going to the Pigmy village. The Pigmy people are of a certain tribe that have been displaced dby the government and are having a hard time adjusting to their new way of life. Aka…they used to live in a National Park and used to hunt ...

Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes Nat Park, Rwanda

... 700 remaining in the entire world. I hope our efforts to save them are successful.

Returning to the resort we are entertained by a local dance troop for about 45 minutes, then retire to the room to clean up and prepare for the farewell dinner, which is taking place one day early due to the fact that three of us have to fly back to Entebbe tomorrow night. Sadly, this incredible tour will soon be coming to a close.

... want to continue to study English, but didn't have a dictionary. They said in the vilage store, the owner was selling them and asked me if I could get one for them. Of course, this was a great thing! We went to the store when we returned to the village. After 15 min of haggling with the store owner, who was asking an absurd price for the dictionary, we settled on something very fair, and the boys got their dictionalry. They gave it to the capitan of the team, and ...

At the top we met up with the rest of our tour, who were fortunate enough to have to only trek 40mins till they saw their family of 20. At the end of this we got back on our mini van and headed back to Lake Bunyoni. On Sunday it pretty much rained all day which kind of sucked, however before it poured a few of us went up to check out another orphanage ...
