A few miles up the road is certainly one place you would not want to be a resident of. Huntsville Prison is situated here. This is the final stop for those people found guilty of murder and sentenced to be executed. There was an execution carried out at Huntsville Prison the week that we arrived at Hillcrest.

Well, another rally is history. It was a good, interesting rally. Let's see, I last wrote about Thursday evening. So now let's talk about Friday and today. Friday I decided to sleep as late as possible since the first thing going on was lunch. However, I woke up about 8:30. That left me about 2 hours to get ready. Now I may be slow, but not that slow! Rally Day

... the beginning of the rally. The dinner consisted of Gumbo w/rice, potato salad, and cookies. It was very good and filling. After dinner, some people played games while some of us just sat and talked with folks we haven't seen in months. The theme is Nautical and on Saturday there will be a costume contest. Not sure how many will be participating.

Tomorrow starts with lunch out then whatever until dinner.

... over to Jim & Laura's for dinner. By this time, they had relocated to another campsite (originally they were right across from us but since they had already been there almost two weeks and were going to be there another two weeks, they moved closer to the others in the group).

... be as good. Since the truck needed new tires we thought here was as good as anywhere to get them. We had the time to do it and there were a million tire joints around. Unfortunately it wasn't a good decision because as soon as we hitched up we realized we now had massive sway with the trailer. Best we could hope for was that the tires bed in and get better. I figure we have some scary driving days ahead until they improve. So time to leave our sanctuary and head south the NASA in ...
