... from. We enquired at one but their rates appeared to be quite high - paying for being on the lake front and having access to a spa and Jacuzzi. The hotel we chose was much cheap and the room is huge as is the bed - king size.

We had a lovely fresh white fish dinner at a little cafe at a fish factory. the fish had been caught this morning and cleaned and prepared out the back. Was a very popular place and some of the diners were known by name.

Took a ride in the opposite direction ...

A pretty little lake with nice fall colors and good fishing nearby. Sites are spread out so you get privacy and are good for tent or RV, even larger ones since the sites are quite large.

We explored the area with a hike while looking for a cache which brought us to ...

      Wow!

History: Paradise is on the northeastern portion of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, on the western side of Whitefish Bay, Lake Superior, about 60 miles (97 km) by road from Sault Ste. Marie and about 55 miles (89 km) north of the Mackinac Bridge. Founded in 1925, Paradise is
surrounded by state and national forests and its main business is tourism. It is considered one of two gateways to the Tahquamenon Falls ...
