          Today is Saturday, October 3rd, so it must be day 13 of my NP tour. Today we spend an hour or so waking through the lost luggage store in Scottsboro, Alabama where Barbara bought a new John Lescroart book for $3, and we got the road for Florida.           The wild life around here is HUGE!! this large owl Todd spotted last evening on dusk, surveying us all from his perch on a dead pine outside our terrace. While heading around our path for the car during the week, I startled a very large Black Racer snake - I screamed, he jumped then slithered into the ferns alongside our house..... ...

          ... gardens, sculpture garden, art gallery, restaurants. Really nice. The next day we spent a full 15 hours in the French Quarter. It was fantastic. We got there early enough to catch Jackson Square in the morning fog from the Mississippi. It really made everything look cool. The old French architecture in the quarter is stunning.           ... the beach and caught the water taxi back to the main land with the storm approaching ever so quickly. Stopping at Punta Gorda's Fishermans village, we found a table overlooking the water, to watch the sun set from their waterside bar..... with the lightning strikes now a safe distance away, heading North and their flashing behind the dark clouds and the rolling thunder.
