Took off from Conover maybe 7:15, on the first day of our new Adventure. Beautiful drive through the North Carolina foothills, through Asheville, on through the Great Smokies to Knoxville, then on to Lexington. Had done some research. The race meetings ...

... Derby is held for breakfast in Millionaires Row, similar to dining in the members at Flemington. Not a dress up day just horses doing early morning work In preparation for the Derby and Oaks. Then on to Louisville Slugger museum and factory, they manufacture all the baseball bats producing 2.8 million bats per year. One every 30 seconds. Interesting to watch. Next stop was Buffalo Trace Bourbon Distillery for a tour and tasting. None for ...

Taking a page out of Professor Speck (Speck's Dad)'s book, the question of the evening for each of the travelers had been thus, "What was your MOST favorite and LEAST favorite CONTROLLABLE thing we did this week. Weather and the like is an Act of God and thus cannot be avoided."
