Today we are leaving west Texas and heading into Hill Country. We read that one of the most popular vacation spots in this area is Kerrville, so that's where we’re going. As we go along the landscape is turning just a little greener as we enter the hills where there are lots of oak trees and shrubs.

... obstacle course timed in teams, then timed individually. The course really helped us get familiar with our horse and how to work with it.
We stopped at about 11.30 and headed into Bandera for a town cowboy parade. Anyone who wants to get involved can ride their horse, cow, car, motorbike, caravan, tractor or whatever they want to celebrate.

... we spent a little time in nearby Fredericksburg, had a great time and planned to come back to take in a little more of Hill Country. Buckhorn Lake is a very nice RV resort with a loyal following of RV'ers in the winter. They are well organized and active with planned functions for its guests and RV lot owners who have built very substantial and impressive structures for bedrooms and entertainment areas.

... to catch our flight to Denver - but due to the freezing weather, our flight was delayed a few hours. We were lucky to get a flight into Denver at all as there were about 60 flights cancelled at that airport that day. I must say flying into Denver at night whilst snowing heavily is not for the faint hearted! Very sweaty palms!  It was a sight to see nevertheless  - nothing but white and the flashing lights of the snow plows.  Mick then had to drive us to breck !!! ...

We went for a 5 mile hike in the Hill Country and enjoyed the nice weather.
Garner State Park is closed for the anual December hunt of exotic animals.
There are lots of exotic game farms from 20 000 acres to 2000 acres. They make their money from hunts and the rare animal trade. Most of them are former sheep and goat farms.Funny to drive along on some country road and see a group of Siberian Ibex ...
