        Heading to North Carolina

Took off from Illinois at about 9:00. We drove about 600 miles
and boondoggled (Sheila says boondocked, not sure which one is right) at a rest
area in Ashland, Kentucky. Tomorrow, we have about 400 miles to go to get to
Zack’s. With an early start, we should get there about 2:00pm.

Not to brag, but we were the only raft that did not dump anyone in the water in Class ...

Still driving on Interstate at this point. Plan to start taking some back roads soon. Camping experience at this KOA was decent. Nice private spot with no other tent campers.

        Some highlights:

-Arrived just before night fall and glad we didn't have to set up in the dark.

-Cold Night with lots of condensation. So wet out ...

Great ride into Morehead today. I rode in with the local boy Randy Roof. His chapter bros were very cool and took us to an independent living compound for people with disabilities. After that friendship visit the took us to Buffalo Wildwings and Frozen Yogurt. In all a really mellow ...

... of I-64 and drove up to the ranger station at Twin Knobs Campground even though the sign at the entrance said the campground was full. The ranger said, "Oh yeah, we have plenty of sites. We just didn't change the sign." We got a great site near the lake.

The plan is to head to Mammouth Caves ...
