    ... We stopped on the bank for lunch and exploring and then stopped for a chance to swim in a calm area of the river. One man who dumped at a whirlpool was sucked in and down for about 45 seconds before it spit him out. He was quite shaken. All in all a great day. Elena loved it!     Still driving on Interstate at this point. Plan to start taking some back roads soon. Camping experience at this KOA was decent. Nice private spot with no other tent campers.

    Some highlights:

    -Arrived just before night fall and glad we didn't have to set up in the dark.

    We headed out from Blacksburg a little after 10:00 this morning. Drove about 265 miles today; Rt 460 into West Virginia, I-77 N to I-64 W to Morehead, Kentucky. It was a beautiful drive through the mountains, and there was very little traffic.
