Nice showers cleaned 2x a day with free blowdryers is a plus. Guy's have a shaving station in theirs I'm told. They have a laundromat and clean facilities. The camp ground is large but cramped in. Freezing in April! There is a good sized general store with lots of healthy options but it is expensive, as to be expected. You may get 3G by the visitor's center if you are lucky.

Very efficiently run with great care for details. Rangers are most helpful. From beginning to end, these are people have great knowledge and problem solving skills. When enforcing the rules, the degree of professionalism and politeness is second to none. Top management downward must be congratulated for a job truly well done.

Wake up call at 5.45 from John, dressed in quick five manic minutes and picked up in the jeep. Had a awesome sleep in the hogan lovely and cozy and warm :) Was a bit surreal driving through monument valley half asleep in the early hours of the morning but totally amazing :) We pulled up to this deserted spot and hopped off the jeep and took our …

After Seligman we drove on a bumpy highway to Williams, had a quick visit to the tourist information and payed our entry fee to Grand Canyon.

We had prebooked a site in the caravan park in Tusayan some 15 km from the rim of GC.

When we arrived at the Grand Canyon Amanda parked in a carpark where we couldn't actually see the canyon, then blindfolded us and made us walk in a line towards the view point. Then we had to all remove our blindfolds at the same time. Unfortunately it was a very overcast hazy day but the view was still breath taking. We had time to walk around, …

    The World's Grandest Hole

Grand Canyon is a beautiful place by night. Looking down I see the Colorado River glowing silver in the light of the full moon, while millions of stars glitter above the towering walls of granite and sandstone that rise almost a mile over my head. We decided to hike to the bottom of the world's largest hole and back again in one day, in spite of...

All Aboard for Grand Canyon Railway!

I got up and packed my stuff and had breakfast at the Grand Café. Then I went back to the room and rolled my suitcase down to the lobby to add it to the mountain of bags that the porters were gathering to transfer to the train. There was still an hour until the pre-train ride festivities, so I plopped myself down in one of the comfy, overstuffed...
