... of how much I have missed the presence of water in my home city. Brisbane used to have a number of fountains but alas, no more. In both Dallas and Norfolk, it has been very hot. Shady glades with running water have an amazing capacity to soothe and restore and both of these cities have had these in abundance. I hope that one day, fountains will return to our Brisbane.

... SEA Today has been an interesting one. We had planned to walk the Cannonball Trail - 400 years of Norfolk and American history all wrapped up in a 2 hour walk along the waterfront and through Downtown Norfolk. Brian took one look at the waterfront and was "a goner". Today was a family day. Our plan was to have our Thanksgiving dinner at Canaan Valley State Park, since we would be leaving right afterward to travel to Summersville, WV to Kerry's dad's house. The state park puts on a nice buffet with carving stations with lots of side dishes and a good selection of desserts- along with a wonderful view of the valley.
