    ... carousel horses are so finely carved that the veins in their necks and legs are visible. Hampton's restored 1920 merry-go-round is one of only 200 antique carousels still in the United States. Its prancing steeds and stately chariots were painstakingly carved from fine-grained hardwood and painted by German, Italian and Russian immigrant artisans. Yep, there was also a geocache there too, which novice Rhonda found before any of us!

    ... year but our friendship has mostly been long distance since we first met in 2009. They have a lovely home in the country, where deer come to visit regularly. Mike grilled delicious steaks and Rhonda served some phenomenal Arkansas Green Beans and a homemade cheesecake! We have more plans together after our trip to Branson.

    ... sea turtles and pelicans.
    we made Norfolk harbor at 5pm and decided to go for it. We wanted to be at the Deep Creek Lock entrance to the Dismal swamp for their 830am opening . We cruised through Norfolk harbor with no issues and set the anchor at 752pm in front of the lock.
    We just cruised about 115 miles in 12 hours!!!

    Went to church - Cherrydale Baptist.

    Stopped by Williamsburg for lunch

    Drove south to Virgina Beach.

    Went for walk along the Boardwalk.

    Nice seafood dinner at Tautog's Restaurant.

    At night there was Christmas lightup along the Boardwalk.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
    Today was a family day. Our plan was to have our Thanksgiving dinner at Canaan Valley State Park, since we would be leaving right afterward to travel to Summersville, WV to Kerry's dad's house. The state park puts on a nice buffet with carving stations with lots of side dishes and a good selection of desserts- along with a wonderful view of the valley. They have been doing a lot of renovations there-I think ...
