... large. After lunch we drove down the highway containing most of the tourist attractions but didn’t stop at any. In the historic part of down town Branson we rode the tourist trolley; and then strolled around, going into several stores but buying very little. We did not find any shows that interested us, that were performing today, so we had dinner back at the camper and watched TV.
... tour of the battlefield and surrounding area. Wilson’s Creek played a significant role in the Civil War as it was the first major battle west of the Mississippi River. We enjoyed our short stay here as it was another piece of the amazing yet disturbing puzzle that is the Civil War. Leaving Wilson’s Creek we headed south on US 65 and our next campground in Branson MO.
... games. We then drove to the "Historic District". Beautiful scenery surrounded the White River but the 'historic' part left a lot to be desired. It was really an outdoor strip mall with many contemporary stores. Steve and the kids enjoyed go-karting to end the evening. Tomorrow (7/10) Will turns 15 and we're headed to St. Louis to see a Cardinals game. Happy Birthday Will! ...
After breaking camp this morning, we continued driving through the "mountains" of northern Arkansas to Pea Ridge National Military Park. Rural Arkansas is full of small towns that seem to be in the middle of nowhere. I think the biggest town we've passed through the past couple of days had a population of about 15,000. Another odd tidbit about Arkansas, they describe the mountain roads as "crooked and steep." Pretty sure that either of us has never seen that on a road sign ...

Loved the "Heavy Metal Highrise Concrete"--vanilla with strawberries, heath bar, almonds (like a blizzard but way better); very creamy, almost as creamy as gelato in Italy. ...
