    Oasis of tranquility

What an oasis of tranquillity. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautifully kept grounds and facilities. We planned to stay four a couple of nights and ended up staying 12. The location was perfect being such a short walk to the town and the beach as well as the markets with the added bonus of being so quiet and peaceful. We are not serious ornithologists but the bird life on site was fascinating and included our first sighting of a Tawny Frogmouth. Would definitely recommend it. The only slight downside was the intermittent Wi-Fi which they were struggling to sort out. We found that Wicked Travel were generous in providing this anyway.

We had a lay in today, which was nice. I had booked up to go hang gliding today but had a bit of time in the morning to do a bit of shopping in Byron with Laura. The shops were lovely and I ended up getting lots of things - clothes, thongs and gifts. The hang gliders met at 12pm for an update on the weather - it was too calm, we needed more wind so …

Today I woke up and had to pack up my bag in the dark as Gemma was still asleep. I went and had breakfast with Sophie and Laura. After breakfast we went downstairs to the lobby and checked out with Tara at 9am. Lauren, Ash and I caught the 750 bus to Sea World, whilst the others headed off on a boat for whale watching or up to the wildlife park. On …

For those of you that know us or have read the previous blog will know that our travels seemed destined to include a visit to at least one hospital and this trip was no exception. It would appear that the most obvious explanation to Peter's prolonged sore throat might well be a fishbone from the delicious fish chowder that I cooked when we were …

We are having a great time, the weather is awesome and there is so much to see and do.
We tried to see Platypus but got there at the wrong time of the day.
We did stop at Capricorn Caves and they were very interesting, the main cave is called Cathedral Cave and they hold weddings there at least 40 weekends in the year.
    Tom tried to buzz …
