Stayed in a 6 bedroom "cabin" in Blue Ridge Mountains close to Bedford, VA and Peaks of Otter.

As Jeanne said "The good times just keep getting better. And, Karen, thanks for coordinating everything with the house. As much as we *****ed about it, it really hit all the high points--plenty of rooms and bathrooms, a nice dining space, great views, and a hot tub and company that goes unmatched."

Sunday morning, we woke up early and started breaking camp. It had rained heavily overnight, but was dry when we woke up around 7. ... area, and lots of awesome hiker friends in town also. As we headed out, we did not even get a mile out....and I caught a beautiful 4.5 foot Black Rat Snake. He was just laying across the trail! Scared the heck out of another hiker, he went to pass Star Gazer, and as he went to pass me......he noticed the snake and jumped back, saying "What the hell.....you scared the **** outta me, is that poisonous, you are crazy!" .
