Alice - The town with no tinsel

Well we finally had lift off! And it totally wasn't that scary. I surprised myself. It was good; we got a nice view of the landscape and Pilot Paul pointed out the area which used to be a camp site for everyone until that particular zone was returned to the traditional owners. It would've been an awesome spot to pitch your tent because it was …

Today we cruised around the Todd Mall Markets for some groovy bargains before heading off to hang with the reptiles at the Alice Springs Reptile House. A little overpriced for what it was, however the girls enjoyed handling an olive python, bearded dragon lizard and blue tongue lizard. We finished off the day with a walk around Simpsons Gap in the …

Well if I ever complain about prices of petrol again just shoot me. BUT let me say, 1 litre of Paul's milk in Hermansberg Northern Territory is $6.35 are you kidding me. All I can think is the remote allowance that the aborigines get must Be great. Did you know that they do not pay for housing, Electricity, Water, Rates, etc. the cordial was $7.80 …

News Item: 3 Sep: "Australia's interior has been frying in record early season heat as temperatures soar into the mid 30s. For Alice Springs, it is the hottest on record for this time of year in 72 years of records, with the last three days exceeding 34 degrees. This included 36.5 degrees yesterday, the hottest start to spring on record, as well as …

We got up early, but not early enough to beat the flies completely. It was a great incentive to pack up the trailer quickly. The worst flies were those that crawled behind my glasses between eye and frame -grrrh. It was a shame about those flies, because the site was lovely to be at all by ourselves, but we were pleased to be bouncing along the …

Very busy park, however enough space for just a campervan. Toilets and showers were clean with hot water. Would definitely stay here again!

Pretty Ordinary

Considering the rates they charge, this caravan park is pretty ordinary. There were lots of residents and the sites were really crowded. The facilities were very old and not in great condition.
