We were on our way from Ligonier to Bedford, PA along route 30 when we saw a sign for the National Park Service memorial to Flight 93, the plane that crashed near Shanksville on 9/11/2001. We had not planned on seeing this site, but here it was so we turned in. We were really glad we did because we were so affected by the experience. One of the things we learned was ...

Traveling from Touchstone East to Philadelphia, I happened across the sign for Flight 93 memorial, it took me a few minutes to realize I was in the area of Pennsylvania where Flight 93 crashed killing all 40 passengers. Although the I 19 which becomes the I ...

When land is a very limited resource as it is here, it's especially troubling to see commercial and urban sprawl--in an area where the population is actually shrinking! ...Anyways... I'm glad I came here and fully experienced this valley. Now I'm ready to move ...

... worth it just to add what I assume with be a boring, generic suburb. Along the way I pass I construction site marked "Islamic Society" where it looks like a small mosque is being built. It's actually a bit refreshing to see a little bit of faith diversity here (along with a beautiful domed synagogue in south Altoona). And by the names I see on the medical centers (on one, 5 out of 6 names were either ...
