    ... over 14 thousand feet tall. My dad took us there for a picnic a couple years ago. We decided an hour detour off our route was worth the trip to go up again. This time Mt. Shasta was still covered in snow so the road was closed at 6,280 at a place called Bunny Flats. Trip advice - if you go there bring hand sanitizer as the "restroom" - outhouse - has neither a sink, towels or hand sanitizer. We were prepared I am glad to say.

    Our drive on Saturday February 28th took us through Sacramento into the Sacramento Valley. It's pretty similar to the San Joaquin Valley we drove through on Friday. It's much greener so I presume they get more rain here!
