    ... and I handled our first major motorcycle emergency. We kept calm and took care of it and got back on the road - that's what you've gotta do. So far, so good with the new battery and voltage regulator.

    By the time we got to North Conway, NH it was nearly 6 pm. We checked in at the Fox Ridge Resort and settled in, then Phil and I went to grab a bite to eat and get fuel for the next morning's ride to Maine.

    ... around with childish excitement, Tuukka included.
    This included a visit to the little gift shop, look out terrace and a glance at the weather station.

    The return trip down was a little anti-climactic as we were somewhat prepared for the road conditions, and welcomed the climate change from low 30's back to the warm 80s!

    If you get the chance, get up there and visit the summit. It'll be an experience I won't forget and am pretty sure you won't either

    ... people in the diner each had huge meals and an enormous bowl of chips with the required bottle of pop. To say obesity in this neck of the woods is rampant is an understatement. Billy-Bob also had a bit of a weight problem and we could see where all his profits were going. He was also wearing his best tracks-dacks and as he had this huge belly they didn't go as high as they should. He would have made any Aussie tradie proud when he bent over.

    ... a unique and very special route. The uphill is so steep – it isn’t until the car is just at the crest of one the runs do you see the next uphill section. When a big SUV comes from the other direction, we wonder if we both can fit on the road – since we are on the outside/down side of the road, Harvey stops and we let the SUV figure it out. Downhill?
