... 66 miles, but that was because it was sending us almost to Alamogordo and then up a winding road. Last time we took that road, Bob kept his eyes closed and his hat pulled down. The way we went cut 30 miles off the route and there were no sheer drop offs. Not as many beautiful vistas, but since it was so cloudy and foggy in places, we probably could not have seen anything anyway.

Cloudcroft is at 8650 ft. It is a small village ...

After dinner we came back "home" and now Bob is sleeping on the couch while COPS plays on the TV and I am finishing up this blog.

Did not take any pictures today since we didn't go anywhere. Tomorrow the plan is to drive UP to Cloudcroft, hopefully it won't rain tomorrow. It's supposed to rain tonight, but so far nothing.

Hope everyone has a good day ...

... if you GOOGLE him, I bet you would recognize his face. He has been in many movies. Started out as a stuntman, then became an actor. Back to Lew Wallace. He was a one time governor of NM appointed by the President since the prior governor had been removed. Anyway, he had promised Billy the Kid a pardon (for killing the law enforcement officers) if he would surrender. Will Billy did, Lew didn't! But the exhibit said he was more interested in writing his book than being governor ...

... Hatch Chile time, because they are everywhere. They are a product of New Mexico and Walmart is selling them by the boxful for $13. I don't know but that sounds cheap to me. If anyone wants any let me know soon, OH BTW, they're HOT!

After breakfast we drove out to THE INN OF THE MOUNTAIN GODS HOTEL/CASINO. WOW what a beautiful view they have there. It is in a small valley surrounded by the mountains and next to a ...
