    and winding road along the McKenzie River through the Willamette National
    Forest. We barely see another car in either direction for miles!

    And those marionberries?

    A variety of blueberry bred by the US Dept of Agriculture in collaboration with
    Oregon State University. Make for delicious pies and crumbles....

    This is a simply beautiful state. Today I have ridden the cascade lakes scenic byway.

    Hundreds of lakes cross crossed with trails and roads.

    All open and free to use. Some with speed restrictions and some unlimited so at one lake it will be totally silent where electric motors are only allowed to power boats and the next the roar of an open exhaust tuned V8 splits the air at 50mph.

    The plan was to stay in Oakridge tonight as that is the name of Mum and Dad's house ...
