    ... Oakridge and saw where it was dammed for Hydro Power. Along the road we came upon a covered bridge which had been built in1945. It is no longer in use. The original had been built in 1907. Our hotel is near the Willamette River and tonight we walked along the riverside walk for a couple of miles to eat at Cameron's favourite American Italian Restaurant, The Olive Garden.     After reluctantly pulling ourselves out of Bend, the new #1 on my list, we headed northwest. We had booked accommodations at Fisherman’s Bend campground near Opal Creek. We were very pleased as we pulled into the small campground, our site was large and wooded with a short foot path directly to the North Santiam River.     ... to see the ghost town in Roseburry that closed at 5, so we rushed home to pack our bags and clean the house out. I don't think I'd ever seen a house cleaned and car packed so quickly and nicely! We made it to the ghost town. In it, there is a convenience store dating from the 1920's. In it there were original candy machines, card holders, wrapping paper, etc. Stepping into the store felt like a flash-back in time. Even the lady and her daughter that were behind the counter ...

    Another long day. That's what happens when you get to one place late. You sleep in, hit the road late and don't get into your next hotel until late. Repeat. But we had fun!
