We were surprised this campground!! We have driven across America from California & stayed in 25 campgrounds!! We think it's the best campground in Door County & in a great location for exploring all this area has to offer it's visitors! We stayed here in September after the Labor Day Week-end, so we had a nice quiet visit here. We'd absolutely stay here again, when we come back to Door County!

From Sturgeon Bay to Carlsville, Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Ephraim, Sister Bay, Ellison Bay, and at the tip of the peninsula- Gill's Point. Robin and Steve were our personal tour guides. Stopped in Sister Bay for an outside waterfront lunch. Simply an amazing view. Cherry season is ...

... this trip, but I'm glad I did. It has been a wonderful place to chill out for a few days. I haven't done much while I've been here, hiking, napping, knitting, eating. That's pretty much it. I rented a little cabin up in the woods and it has been a great base for exploring the peninsula. Most mornings have started out with my trusty thermal mug of coffee and Addie dancing in the waves at Whitefish Bay State Park.

... I had grown up with this.

The weather was funny. I think because I was driving either north or south, and the weather system was moving west to east, I kept driving in and out of it. All day long, wipers on...no - wipers intermittent...oops, sunglasses on...sunglasses off...hail...rain...brilliant sunshine..sunshine and rain at the same time...and on and on. No worry about falling asleep at the wheel, with all that fussing going on.
