Today was set aside for R & R around the campground. After a delicious steak dinner, cooked on the grill, we went to the local holiday celebration, "Concert in the Park". It was a family barbeque and a concert by local musicians; we were there only a few minutes before returning to the campground.
... we headed north on CA Rt. 139, west on CR Rt. 161 then south on US 97, I-5 and east on CA Rt. 89 to the campground. This route took us through some beautiful farmland and then the Ponderosa Pine forests that cover much of the higher mountain sides. For almost the entire trip back we had the snow caped 14,000 foot “Mount Shasta” as a beacon toward which we were heading.
... the campground is full of families and there are kids everywhere, it is great to see everyone having fun. After setting up camp we went to visit a high school friend of Jack’s and her husband, for dinner and some great conversation. It was great being able to reunite with them after so many years.
... br> The day after the "housewarming party" I went up to Etna to stay with my cousin Brit for a couple days to herd cows and shoot things so it wasn't an entirely pointless trip to the mountains I still had a ******* blast and I only just managed to finally come good from my knee injury from Japan, my knee held up to a solid day at Wake Island Cable Park so **** is perfect plus I met a little babe there who is keen on me so life is sweet!
... There for sure has to be "The Artful Odyssey II" because the bucket list item was to travel Route 101, ALL THE WAY to the Canadian border.)
