    A reasonable overnight stop

Given that we had to stay overnight at the entrance to Denali Park, this was a reasonable overnight stop. The room was pretty basic though and on the cold side too. Breakfast was very simple - not really worth the additional $11 charge, but there was no place else to go. Charging for hot coffee seemed mean on a cold and frosty morning when there was no kettle in the room. The lunch box for the bus trip was not worth the additional $14 either.

    The Prey restaurant was OK.

Cabins with running water and electricity but not sure if heated well as it got cold at night. Comfortable. Has onsite restaurant. Also, has a lounge cabin area with board games, comfy old armchairs with moose and caribou antlers scattered around and two TVs.

Free day at Denali - Rob and I decided to live life and booked a white water rafting trip, starting at 7.30. What a way to start the day with a "glacial facial" it was so incredibly cold, of course my dry suit did not fit me on the neck or wrists so the first rapid we hit I got smashed and freezing water inside my suit! It was fantastic and we would do it again, even Rob who is normally cautious loved the adrenalin ...

... truck. As I was filling the truck Jeff notices a sign. Understand, outside of a gas station, a small motel and an RV campsite that's all that makes up Healy. The sign says brewery 100 feet away. Jeff and I started laughing. Yea, probably a trailer next to the station has some guy brewing his own. We finished filling and drove into a beat up trailer park and at the end of the park was truly a micro brewery and restaurant. We felt obligated to going in and seeing what ...

... caribou and Denali viewing on the side of the road. We had the "Not the Lower 48" Pizza with Ground Elk, Caribou sausage and Buffalo Mozarella, and the "Soldotna" with blackened Halibut, carmelized onions and fresh tomatoes. All I can say is YUM!!!!

We headed to Healy to the McKinley RV park. What can I say about this establishment.....great view, good WiFi....very rustic. Location, location, location. ...

    A day off the bikes!!

Up early we grab a 6a shuttle tour through Denali to the Eielson visitor center - 8 hours total. Denali is ~6 million total acres and only a fraction of it is accessible to humanoids. We see grizzlies including a mom and her large blonde cubs wrestling, caribou, moose, and golden ...
