... s Big Band show was lead by an 80 year old singer Lynn Roberts who could belt out a tune - she was amazing - in voice and looks. After the show I had to have a close inspection and tried to find some needle or stretch marks behind the ears. I think the band and Lynn were singing for the deaf, but overall I think it was one of the better shows - only I still can't get over Lynn's age. ... the spigot. I was bummed that I had emptied the "good" water already. Oh well, gotta have something to drink. I had a great, quiet ride up to Muscatine. What a great road for cyclists! The city was an eye sore coming up from the south side. It's very industrial with tons of train tracks and semis. I spotted two touring cyclists across a divided road going the opposite direction. ... to find a place to rinse it off later. Biking I the rain wasn't too bad. I have a good gortex shell, and I wore a cap under the hood to deflect the rain. Drivers were extra cautious around me, too. Still not sightings of other cyclists... Muscatine is where some routes intercept, so maybe tomorrow I'll find one. ... just a map...that wasn't even the right state (2 of the Quad cities are in Illinois 2 are in Iowa). We did alright we hit up the Rock Island arsenal museum and had a quick look around the quad cities before heading up to Iowa City for lunch. It is a wonderful little university town.
