Absolutely wonderful. We had a cottage overlooking the lake. Extraordinary price performance and theentrance to the pools was included, so we enjoyed it in the afternoon and I did a gain in the early morning, where I had the complete pool area for myself.

Drove up to Huka Falls. Right start to the day but then it turned cloudy. Carried on and stopped off to see the Craters of the Moon - thermal hot spots. It takes about 45 mins to walk round and on the way it started to rain.

We then headed to the scenic overlook of the lake for lunch - you couldn't see the lake for clouds and then the rain …

He stood on a rock and a big wave came in and crashed round the rock - instead of waiting for the water to recede - he panicked (don't know why) and jumped in the water (whilst wearing his only pair of trainers). He might have to wear …

Tag versuchten …

Our day started with a walk along the shore of Lake Taupo where Andrea discovered the unique property of pumice stones I took a large pumice rock and threw it in the lake and it floated! We had to do that several times; it's just so odd! After lunch our hosts took us for a boat ride across the lake to look at some large but not old Maori rock …
