... Narrows to the USA border crossing at International Falls. The route to Sault St Marie is shorter and gas is cheaper if we go between Lake Superior and Lake Michigan in the USA. Our first night we are staying in Duluth, MN in the Black Bear Casino parking lot (woohoo!). Had to taste some of the local beers but found them too hoppy for our tastes. Up at 5am...which is 4am, Calgary time and over to the airport by 5:30...Josh, Mel and Bronwyn are taking off as I write this. We can see the airport from our parking spot...there they go.... When Ron came back we spent a couple of hours choosing to keep or jettison food, packing clothes, shoes, stuff....amazed at how we managed to get the car loaded....and, of course we have the canoe and bicycle on the roof of the car ...
