... very near the roadway and continued to The Canyon area to see the falls. The falls were spectacular and we were able to see a bald eagle nests with two babies. We then made our way south through the Hayden Valley with all of its requisite bison traffic jams! A great day all around. Yellowstone is amazing in so many ways and we absolutely loved the diversity of terrain we encountered. Our 'wow' factor, defined as how many times the word is used during a day, was very ...

At the end of the day, Deena commented that she was glad that she had experienced Yellowstone (Tim had been there before as a child), BUT, it wasn't anymore beautiful than the awesome beauty we had already experienced driving up the coast, through the redwoods, and over the mountains in Oregon & Montana.

After parking for the night in Cooke City, we had NO IDEA what the next day had in store for ...

... to Cody, we turned north on 120 and then to 296 ( The Chief Joseph Highway) which was absolutely gorgeous riding and got into Cooke City ahead of the solos once again. Hoo-Hah! Since we were staying at the Cooke City Sinclair Station ( & Cabins) and had a real, though small, kitchen Chef Hank prepared us a wonderful feast of grilled hamburgers, salad, and corn on the cob. A really good home cooked meal that was made better by the Nutella and bread sticks ...
