Our purpose in coming to this area was to visit the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. We found Andres Lake State Forest Campground a few miles north of Paradise. A pretty little lake with nice fall colors and good fishing nearby. Sites are spread out so you get privacy and are good for tent or RV, even larger ones since the sites are quite large.

We arrived just after a heavy rain storm, set up camp before dark and rushed off the the Brewery restaurant for supper before they stopped serving. Enjoyed two delicious beers with supper, a stout and then an amber red. Next day hiked to see the lower falls and then the upper falls which are the 2nd largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. The beautiful rust and golden colour is from all the iron.

Tahquamenon Falls State Park near Lake Superior..Amazing park… best of the best so far.

On the way to the park we stopped at Point Iriquois Lighthouse on Whitefish Bay, Lake Superior. Early 1800's and one of the few remaining to have a resident caretaker.

Sept. 7th, Sat. Drove to northern part of the Upper Peninsula to Tahquamenon Falls State Park.Stocked up with items in the town of Paradise-not. What a depressed town and yet they call it Paradise!
