Slow start to the day - that was great. Headed off with Madge in our car to 12 mile beach to find the White Birch trail. Camp ground was well sign posted but the walk was not. He held up but was tired. Along the way we saw very “rustic” cabins tucked in the woods and bear scat.

The region harvests blueberries and cranberries in season. Lake Superior shipping lanes are several miles off shore. The Paradise post office opened May 1, 1947.
