Lower section has pull-thru sites and some tent sites. There are some permanent residents here, too, and they are also very nice. This is also where the showers are located and they are a long walk from the upper level.

... South Lake Tahoe for the next few nights for some rock climbing, then heading North to a place called Cascade Locks in the border of Oregon and Washington to jump back on to the trail for a final 2 to 3 weeks stretch.
I'm feeling strong and healthy. I'm having an amazing time and super excited for my next few weeks.

... come in off trail. After a mongolian buffet and ice cream sandwiches we made our way to the lake to check out the sunset. On our way down we crossed paths with a huge black bear making its way through town sniffing round the bins. It was an absolute beast and stunned me for a few seconds. However it was only interested in food and let us be. After the lake, we parted ways with Sierra and Tigerlily and got ready to head back on trail. I jumped ahead ...
