Monday, July 6, 2015. PCT day 78 miles 1189.2-1198 Today is a nero day. I slept in until 06:30 and left camp by 0730. The trail was all downhill, 8.5 miles into Sierra City, which is at 4200 feet elevation. It definitely felt warmer/hotter down here. I arrived here by 11:30ish. ... with him. I've been bumping into him often on the trail. Last time I saw Dingo and Cosmic Bubbles was in VVR. For the most part, the terrain today was not very spectacular. It is still mostly volcanic and forestry. The hiking was mellow with easy climbs. It was in the 40s this morning. It felt like it got up to the low 80s by mid afternoon. It felt muggy. No rain, tho. It looked like Thousand Island Lake in the High Sierra. It was surrounded by granite peaks and the lake had many small islands in it. Blaire was a quiet trooper and the trip and having here on the trip was indeed a pleasure. I would travel with her again.
