It took 13 weeks for the contractor to finish the remodel and another 2 months for Bob to build the courtyard, but we made it just in time for a Labor Day cookout with several neighbors. The remodel was well worth it. We love the clean uncluttered look inside and the vaulted mtn lodge feel outside. Enjoy the before and after photos, it is an amazing ...

Then the fun part started, coming up with an itinerary with visits to places we hadn't been yet as well as places we wanted to see again.
Thanks to the internet making hotel reservations was easy. We used the booking site JapaniCan and were able to book all the hotels and ryokans we ...

... time will be spent in the backcountry wilderness where there aren’t any stores or restaurants. I finally finished packing at 4:19 a.m., took a shower, and then got ready to leave.

The trip got off to a bad start when I did not get on the IAD-SEA nonstop flight. The infuriating part is that I actually did have a seat on that flight – but it was given away to another standby passenger behind me on the list by some crazy gate agent. ...
