    It's hard to believe that in 48 hours I will be on a plane headed for my first European adventure that will be an approximate total of at least over 11,000 miles! I know that isn't quite a big deal. I've met many people in my travels who have been "across the pond". However, I don't know many that have had an itinerary like this.

    We headed back to Charlotte on Friday morning planning on making a return stop to Fatz for lunch, however once we reached Shelby we decided that if Red Bridges Barbecue Lodge had made it both on NC Barbecue Society Historic Barbecue Trail, and was highly recommended by Gail from Fatz, then perhaps we should give it a chance.

    ... to get out that had flights during those 2 + days. I almost left thinking it was hopeless but they always say when you are flying standby "don't ever give up till they close the doors". So I waited and sure enough, I got on and I heard the flight attendant say there were still 3 empty seats on the plane. Amazing! I still can't believe with the mess they had in Charlotte that I was able to get on.
