... so organised the cutting through the rocks to form this beautiful scenic route. The main part took approximately 20 Years to complete but was finally finished in the 70's. A good time to visit would be in the fall as the colours are magnificent. The very winding route is 440 miles long but we only did part of it although we did reach the highest road point. We ...

We had an early start today. Oh, meltdown. Oh Maggie. Oh no internet. The service is down ( Maggie think's it's her new IPad!!! ) 1 hour later she is told its not her but the server is down! We left and drove westward inland on interstate 26. No more Palm trees no more coast line to follow. ... as Direct Current. When the house was built - It was not clear if -- Edison's direct current design or --- Tesla's alternating current would surface as the best for electrification of the house. The present house uses some of both types of current.

We were not allowed to take pics in the house but we have some of the grounds and the exterior of the house.
