    ... could have some peach ice cream. Well, actually I also bought a small candle (at Circle E) and a really nice top and some earrings (at the Wildflower Farm).

    This was the first day of the rally. For dinner we had Italian. Tonight no one stayed behind to play games, but Bridget & Carsten stopped by our place for a visit and we caught up with each others summer travels.

    ... lit Big Room and then decided to hike back up the eighty stories or so of the Natural Entrance. Daylight never looked so sweet as at the end of that climb. The road part of the day was mostly long and boring. US 285 to I-10 past ranch land and oilfields on 70 and 80mph roads. The last leg on US 280 at least had some hills and towns.     ... An English girl and some guys from Holland and Canada as well as a couple of mandatory Aussies. I was introduced to 'Four Loco' - a type of disgusting energy drink that was punching in at 13% alcohol content. Apparently a 16 year old had died after a few too many cans of this stuff a while back so they'd diluted it down but it still gave me the worst hangover I've had in a LONG time! The club night turned out to be pretty strange. ...

    ... I had to play the room a bit, read the story and do the kid-on-the-knee thing. For the open houses, it would be kids on the knee, then working the lobby if time permitted.
