The coolest thing to see was the floodgate system. They showed us how they can shut off the entire River Walk area if the San Antonio River starts flooding.

... banged out a wonderful version of Here Comes Santa Claus. I'll admit that it felt funny, initially, being Santa. Just walking around ho, ho. ho-ing was strange and different. I had to keep telling myself that while this was new to me, it wasn't new to these kids and parents. They've been seeing Santa every year and they expect certain behaviors from the man in red. I couldn't appear uncomfortable or lack confidence or it would all be a sham.
