Campland on the Bay

Sunny Southern Cali
The drive across southern california was marked by a serious climb into and over the mountains. The wind was gusting to fifty and semis were all around....fun stuff. Had me so rattled I stopped at the Golden Acorn Casino for a little rest and gamble break...spent an hour and made a whopping $35.
The next stop was Campland in San Diego. …
Joshua Tree
We have now spent 8 nights in the motorhome – half way through the road trip portion of our holiday. We've covered 1233.8 miles (1985 km) through 3 states. According to the GPS our maximum speed has been 81.9mph. Must have been a downhill stretch.
The KOA campground we stayed in at Blythe backed onto the Colorado River and was geared …
SeaWorld
Today was a day at SeaWorld, but not before the kids did some exploring around the campground and checked out the Huff n Puff playground. SeaWorld was only a 10-15 minute drive away so off we headed and parke dinthe RV parking. This country is pretty well set up for motorhomes - when we camped overnight at Blythe our 30 foot van was the baby in the …
Catching our breath in San Diego
The kids were pretty tired by today so we had a fairly easy day. It was also the first time we've struck rain. The campground is on a small beach on Mission Bay, …
Coming Full Circle
Howdy folks,
Well I got up and went to the Grand Canyon airport with most of the group to go on the helicopter flight at 9am. The helicopters were quite nice and fairly new with good windows to look out. The helicopter fit 7 passengers and we took off and flew for 5 minutes towards the canyon rim before heading down and around in a full …

TravelPod Member ReviewsCampland on the Bay San Diego
This is a beautiful campground with lots of amenities and well laid out with a beautiful view if you pay extra. We had the bay view but as we didn't have a rear window you could only see a bit of the bay from the side window so at $100 a night it was quite expensive. It was a shame that our stay was spoiled by someone stealing our water pipe when we were not there however I cannot fault the staff who apologised and promptly replaced it free of charge. Also forgot to say wifi is a bit patchy throughout our stay
