... huile’ with olive trees scattered around. A strain of bamboo is growing everywhere and cactus’s are making an appearance on the horizon.
Heading as far south as we could we were actually riding along various land bridges with ‘etangs’ (sorry, cannot do the accents. These are little areas of trapped water were lots of wildlife live). The most unique of all creatures that live here are Flamingos! Never had I ...
... is hands down my favorite way to travel. At first, it seems very intimidating, but you meet so many people so quickly. I had pictured myself being alone for the whole time, but honestly, I have not had a single dinner alone. The idea of eating alone is not even an option because there are so many people to hang out with. What is also very cool about traveling is that all the people you meet are mildly interesting ...
Lodeve, Languedoc-Roussillon, France jdcabanel... two weeks (I was planning on staying for 12 days). So instead I've mapped myself out a really nice road trip throughout Spain, where I will stop in Valencia, Granada, Malaga, Gibraltar, Sevilla, Cordoba, Madrid, and Pamplona. This should take me about the same time, so I'd have approximatelty 2 1/2 weeks. Hopefully my next post will be from a strange and foreign Spanish city.
Well, finally - after a false start setting out to pick up friends from Pau airport a day early! - first night: moored up alongside the Canal du Midi, just south of Beziers. Some very noisy ducks for company... Bit of a gloomy one weather-wise. Rained last night, but forecast suggests brightening up gradually as day goes on. Slowing our departure from ...

this is the hardest part, adjusting to the idea that I will be away from home, those I love, for a very long time. Usually, when I come to my Dad's house, it's usually for 3-4 weeks. Now ...
... bah d'accord. Et quand dois-je y être?
Bah dans 4 jours!
Ahhhhh, me dis-je intérieurement, mais non!!! Ok, donc on voit tout ça lundi.
A bientôt!"
All good things have to end and we said good bye to Graeme and Rita. After having a swim and moping around Sam said - thats it - lets go out, so off went.
The first stop was St Guiliem le desert which is a lovely little town north of Herepian. We then went on to Cirque de Navacalles which is ...
Another leisurely start and then off out we went after a big hail storm that delayed our departure until after lunch.
We headed up towards lake Saligou to add our names to the banks of red rock and then we founded a site where there are dinosaur footprints. Quite an interesting site
On looking up the nearby hill Greame saw a ruin so after looking at each other we ...
Yep it was later start however Ethan was very pleased to have Graeme up and endulging in an early morning swim. Jen and Graeme went for a walk while we went and collected up the pastries for a late breakfast
After a lazy morning and lunch we headed up the Gorges D'Heric for a swim in the rock pools. It was fantastic and the coolest we had been in days.
Another barbeque and a considerably quieter evening all round!!!
... the Internet. The next 5 hour leg of our trip to Barcelona leaves in 20 minutes so I better get running to the station. Later. UPDATE The train to Barcelona was a Spanish train, and sadly quite the oppisitte in quality to the French one. What made it even worse is that they had split Megan and I up so we had to spend the 5 hour trip on our own. Luckily we had found two different discarded English ...
