    Our Last Day on Corsica

    ... we drove 3000 miles and really saw a lot.

    We walked around the downtown for a short time. We shared a panini sandwich and each had a beer. This town is very hilly. I felt really lazy today and just wanted to go back to the hotel and rest. I didn't sleep well last night. We got to Face Time with all our children and grandchildren—yeah!!

    ... each had a small sampling of gazpacho, pistachio cream over cous cous, some kind of custard and a lovely serving of caviar over some other fish roe. They were all delish, as were the cold beers. Eldon's concern is what this little tray of extras is going to cost us.

    We went back to the room and rested. Around 1:30 we got out our cheese and ham from yesterday and shared a bottle of wine.

    ... a grocery store about 10 minutes from our hotel and got a yummy cheese, smoked prosciutto, bread and a beautiful little piece of pork pate with black truffles in it. Our room wasn't ready so we walked across the street and sat on a bench over looking the Mediterranean sea. It was gorgeous. We just can't get over the colors of the water. It is so crystal clear. I'll bet the snorkeling is amazing here.

    ... of Corsica. The road was just as scary as the road from Calvi to Porto but had the additional hazard of pigs and cows wandering along the road. Going to Ajaccio first rather than driving directly from Porto to Conte added two hours to the driving but we felt we should check out Ajaccio.
