... March. Boy was I wrong, as the vaporetti I was hoping to get on filled up and we had to wait a half hour for the next one. The funny thing that happened though., right after that vaporetti left, a private small boat pulled up to the dock - like a taxi and offered rides to people to Venice for 10 euros a head. A good 20 people took him up on it, and you know he's made his day's wages right then and there. Not sure if it's legal, yet if the buses only run ...

... Oops. The island doesn't seem to have much excitement, even the main street - the Gran Viale was pretty quiet though it had a number of shops and eateries. I just couldn't imagine the film festival taking place here. Perhaps it was because I couldn't find the palazzo for movies. Maybe next time. Lido otherwise feels very residential and a good place to get away from most of the tourists.
