... Mogollon (hor-NAH-da muggy-OWN) rock art. The number and concentration of petroglyphs make this one of the largest and most interesting rock art sites in the Southwest. The rock art was made between 400 AD and 1200 AD with stone tools by removing the dark patina on the exterior of the rocks. In Hondo, near Ruidoso, there is an Iris Farm and we were able to see the acres of various types of flowers still viable in early June along with Hummingbird feeders.

Also in Hondo was a unique Jewelry Factory where earrings, bracelets, etc are made by pouring pewter into hand-made rubber molds. ...

... Anyway, we figured we better get out there and see it right away in case we didn't have time the morning we were leaving town. As we drove that direction, we were a little concerned. It was really windy out, and we could see a big cloud of white dust over the whole area.
