Very nice State Park

This park has very large and private sites and the staff were very accommodating in finding us a spot on labor day long weekend! Very close to town of Camden. Hiking trails to mountain top of Mt Meganticook (1,300 ft) is strenuous but the reward at the top is worthwhile. The drive up Mt Battie (800 ft) is also very good.

We left the Paul Bunyan campground and were on the road by 6:45 a.m. because Buddy wanted to beat the crowds to Acadia National Park. We drove the park loop road and admired the rocky coast. I took pictures at several of the overlooks. That being said, we didn't …

... mayonnaise to garnish it. It is lobster-eater's nirvana. Jim chooses drawn butter, Casey goes mayo. The just over one hour wait was worth it and not only for the amazing lobster roll, but their huge vertical slices of fried zucchini were more than a pleasant and scrumptious surprise.

Leaving Reds, we enter the Penobscot Bay area, first through Rockland, then onto Rockport. We take note that indeed there are a lot of ...

My back is still killing me! I finally had to just leave poor Mike to drive by himself. No navigation this afternoon. Poor guy. I am laying down in the bedroom.
Mike happened to find a small sign (shades of Keene's Lake) and turned down the road. He happened upon a HUGE campground! Lots of people that ...

... Jakes. Had dinner and being so close to home, had a few more drinks. Chris & David had a full beer when Ellen and I were done so we drove back to camp and they were going to walk back (and walk it off) when done. They weren’t too far behind us but apparently their age is catching up to them…………… first, no technology, and now, had to decline free beer from 2 French ladies in the bar as they were "too ...

... amazing. They are smoked overnight before being grilled. Thinking we're going to have to invest in a smoker because they were absolutely the best I've ever had.

Spent the evening at the campfire with our best friends – beer, rum, banok, syrup, jagermeister and powdered sugar. Tonight we added a new friend – cinnamon. Another great night and cause for more snoring in the camper. ...
