Today was spent helping Grandpa with chores around the farm and getting ready to head out of Nebraska in the morning. I'm struggling with the decision of whether to go or not. The weather is a little questionable with a stationary front stalled along the Nebraska-Kansas border. I'm debating on staying a few more days and not going to Kentucky. ...

It rained a little last night, but the sun is out again today. It was kind of a lazy day today. We did get out the keyboard and had music lessons. I fought with computers that weren't working right and wasted way too much time with that task.

In the evening, after dinner, we drove down to Taylor to visit with Aunt S and Uncle P. JJ and I helped her cut lavender and pull some weeds out of her garden until the mosquitoes started to eat us up. JP and Omi "helped" Uncle P ...

Grandpa gave all the kids 4-wheeler ...

... we found that we didn't have green food coloring like we thought. So after 2 hours of going paranoid looking for green good coloring recipes that we had time and supplies to make and another hour of finding a solution to our problem, we finally decided to put pieces of green gummi bears instead."

Personally, I'm glad we came up with the green gummi bear solution as some of the recipes JJ found included boiling grass and spinach (hmmmm). The cake turned out great. ...

      ... high and fast.

We saw Grandma today. She was alert and happy and enjoyed visiting with the kids.

We are also now very conscious of the fact that we are in tick country as Omi and I both found ticks on us that had dug in pretty good. We will be doing nightly tick checks from now on.
