... and ignored speed limits ...... It was a roller coaster ride with swerves and turns and stops and starts and about an hour into the trip we were both sick. A quick dash through the airport and we were onto the next shuttle which delivered us on time to the BC Ferries terminal. The 90 minute ferry trip across the harbour was great. We spent the time outdoors trying to reclaim our stomach and convincing ourselves we were getting our sea legs. The number of people ...

... One morning we ate breakfast on the 40th floor in a restaurant that overlooked all of Tokyo. Amazing. On our second day, we chose a ground level Garden restaurant looking out onto a waterfall and manmade pond/lake filled with various coloured enormous koi. ... of the ancient world. Shakespeare helped immortalize it with his lines in "Julius Caesar": Why man, he doth bestride the narrow world Like a Colossus, and we petty men Walk under his huge legs and peep about To find ourselves dishonorable graves. Not a trace, other than allusions in literature and fanciful artists' depictions, remains today, as it was destroyed in an earthquake in 226 BC. Artists' depictions range from a Statue of Liberty clone to an X rated ...

... they said it was all fine. So when we reached the border, the officer asked if we went to some website so it wouldn't take us as long but of course we didn't know about that. Filling out a list of things, we paid 6 American Dollars (per document) and were allowed to go. It was pretty easy, but we had to write down exactly where we were heading to, fortunately Margaret knew the way. The US now has all ...
