Two hours into our trip...and BANG...a rock hits our windshield! This is my first windshield crack in 10+ years in my faithful car (affectionately named "Justin"....don't laugh). ... the town of only 500 residents but all these visitors (because the other little mining towns weren't connected by roads, those who were coming and going from the region trained into Thurmond, which made it a huge hub of activity). We started out today walking in the small capital city of Frankfurt, Kentucky. As we walked down the street we found out that everyone greets everyone else with a friendly, "Hello."
