7th August
Meet Carly for breakfast on what looks like a brilliant day, planning to hire bikes and ride three or four beaches down the road to hang out for the day. that thought disappeared pretty quick as monsoon rain set in!

Both had a little nap before getting ready for tea, ended up going out with the four german girls ...
... road towards the beach, which is two blockes away.
The quiet of the morning was only interrupted by the sounds of crowing roosters, heavy construction and other big delivery trucks going by, and people greeting eachother first thing that morning in a different language than at home. The morning smells were similar to what I am used to in Jamaica; smoldering wood, breakfasts cooking and the occasional wiff of diesel exhaust, mixed in with the ...

And did you know that as frogs do not have any genital parts, their reproduction consists of the male, always smaller than the female for that particular reason, hopping on the female's back and giving her a back massage for two weeks non stop? So the female just walks around, eats, sleep and carries out its normal activities with a guy on its back for two weeks straight. Cool or not cool?
Puerto Viejo, Province of Limon, Costa Rica njarraud... head, hahahahahaha. She was already gone though by the time I passed by. It turns out that she is the same turtle that was the first to come two years ago to Ostional so hopefully she's going back to let the others know its safe to go and we'll have more soon ! They come back every 9-11 days to re-nest so we should see her again in just over a week, hopefully on my patrol ! It has definitely been a relief to have her show up, last year there were only 8 nesting ...
Ostional, Costa Rica kaypea... nearly at all times a project coordinator or Isaac (one of the directors) himself was present, or came on a regular basis, if for nothing else than just to see that we we're all okay and to bring us some snacks. All over Costa Rica, Costa Rica tropicalcr... more and take in a canopy tour in the forest outside of town. 4.4 Still taking it easy in Puerto Viejo. Its different here than the other beaches we went to. This town has a Caribean atmosphere. I guess it would best be described as a Rasta village. Also, the other beaches we have been to were very dry and dusty and it never rained, however here the rainforest literally comes right up to the beach ...
