“Cabana on the beach”

We slept in a private cabana on the beachside in a hanging bed, wich was very fun. Mosquito net was provided. It's a quiet place: very basic and very cheap. There was a small store, but there weren't many things available. There was a small restaurant for breakfast and lunch that closed at sundown. No kitchen available. Toilets were dirty and toilet paper unavailable. Showers were also dirty and we didn't feel the welcoming feeling. But we had a good stay. The beach at these cabana's is very rocky and it was a short walk to the white sandy beach. The supermarket and town are taxi distance away.

... but there's not much in the town. I decided to stay there a couple of nights and then head to Playa del Carmen with the guys for the weekend and my birthday!

Just before we left, the guys had hired mopeds so we hooned around and went to a beach with turtles before loading onto a collectivo, surf boards and all....(there's no surf on the yucatan, the boys were carrying them from Puerto!!), to arrive in Playa.

... any hassle. But the good news was – no hassle, got the tickets nice and easily this time. The bad news – we were at the wrong bus station! ARGH! Luckily though, it was only a 15minute walk. But man that walk killed us. It was so hot! And with our backpacks it made you sweat even more.
Fortunately though, the bus was nice and cold from the air-conditioning.

It was only 60km down the road, not too far and already ...
