Panic in Pucon!
We arrived in Pucon, a touristy town in Chile's lake district with two aims. Number one; climb Volcano Villarica and number two; visit the hot springs.
After day 1 it looked like neither objective was going to happen due to horrible wet and windy weather - luckily the hostal we stayed at was cosy, with a great stove in the living room keeping us warm.

Getting used to Chile
Pucon is 780 km south of Santiago-about 10 hours by bus. If you go on a deluxe travel bus, seats fold down to a full bed with a pillow and blankets so you can travel all night. That way you don't waste time traveling and can begin your day at your next destination without missing a beat! Apparently that leg is not so pretty - it is industrial most of the way so I guess we had a winning combination.
