When we got to the other side we found the road covered with snow and stopped to put chains on while a couple of guys on snowmobiles stopped to watch. ... We were told to put on all our remaining layers but it was so difficult. Everything I did felt unbearably slow, I couldn't feel my hands and so zipping up my jacket was virtually impossible and I became colder and colder and more and more mildly panicked and irrational. Pucon was an amazing town. It seemed to be a getaway for the rich in the Chilean lake district. Prices were similar to back home.
