... solid here for the last week and a half so a lot of the activities had not been running. I went for a walk along the waterfront in the rain. l booked into a trip to the hot springs for the night with the rest of the guys at the hostel. There was only 4 of us staying there. The hot pools were nice especially when it was cold and raining. We went out for a few drinks that night. Wow were they strong. You ask for a Jack Daniels with coke and they give you a full glass of JD with ...

... of water. The volcano climb on Thursday was hard, it was straight up in rented boots that were ridiculously heavy and large. I had hardly any control over my feet but I trudged on. I made it to the snow on top but started to feel sick. I regrettably decided to stop here. The guide told me it would be really difficult and another 3 hours so it would be better to stop. crampons as it wasn't too icy. It took us 3 and a half hours of switchbacks to get to the top,
stopping every half an hour or so for a quick breather and some water. We stopped for lunch halfway up and it was so picturesque,
although a bit dodgy - sheer drops everywhere, which made it a bit dangerous
when you tried to wander off a bit to go to the loo!

... area with all the natural hot springs was really nice, with the river next to it. I even got a swim in the cold river to cool down between jumping from hot pool to hot poll. Guess we stayed there until 11.00 pm and got back to the hostel again right before midnight. Tomorrow the trip continues to Argentina and San Martin de los Andes, but first, another breakfast at Cassis I hope. If I wake up in time. We leave the hostel at 9.00 ...
