... week I had no idea what 'the Alamo' was (doesn't it mean "served with ice-cream"?), I am now initiated and enlightened, as you will be shortly!
After parking near the river, we walked the short distance to the river walk entry and it didn't take long to notice the Mexican influence in the city - signs in Spanish, many of the people with the typical Mexican dark hair and eyes and every restaurant/café was Mexican food.

... edible delights.  Had a campfire with s'mores and chatted to the other guest. In hindsight, we should have left the next morning.  Days are long on the ranch!  We had a couple more trail rides and some more bad food and not much else. We went for a 5 mile hike in the Hill Country and enjoyed the nice weather.
Garner State Park is closed for the anual December hunt of exotic animals.
There are lots of exotic game farms from 20 000 acres to 2000 acres. They make their money from hunts and the rare animal trade. Most of them are former sheep and goat farms.Funny to drive along on some country road and see a group of Siberian Ibex ...
