Driving through the Cragnorms Mountian range and part of the Castle Trail we headed to Inverness. Our location was right beside the water of the Moray Firth. We visited the Culloden Battle Field, Lochness, Urquart Castle.

... It is a beautiful old historic home and we had a delicious dinner and Soph managed to literally roll her eyes back in her head from sheer exhaustion! Very impressive.

... and backed our car onto the ferry. We left for Skye, a short 25 minute ride away.

We met a friend on the ferry named Neal. He was an American from Alaska and he was traveling alone. We planned to meet Neal later for a beer. We checked into the B and B, went into Portree, and started laundry at the hostel...the only laundry in town. We headed across the square and had a great dinner, pints, ...

Fun Facts:
There are roadworks everywhere in Edinburgh right now because they are putting a tram line in from the centre of the city to the airport. It has cost billions so far, taken over 6 years and most of the local population don't even want it. Lol!

The 2 biggest industries in Scotland are Tourism - not surprising, and Whisky, which alone accounts for 10% of their total food and drink exports. ...
