Celebrations and bubbly followed, along with random (unsuccessful) beer-run adventures and random Vimeo videos of a guy called Al that...can't really be explained... Morning brought the next driving leg, towards a mountain cabin outside a town called Helen. Helen was explained to me as a German town in the foothills of ...

Yet another instance of great friends starts my time at the lake. Upon hearing of my plans for this southern journey, Miss Heather Smith immediately rolled out that southern hospitality and invited me to stay at her family's lake house up at Lake Burton in Northeastern Georgia and enjoy some solitude. Terrycloth robes, bamboo linen, specialist breakfasts and incredible hosts made it an unforgettable experience.

And so we headed back, filled with fresh mountain air, southern hospitality and life long friends from as far as Germany. All in a week. ...

... the Lower Falls. After we got some pictures from here, we continued on up the trail to the wooden overlook for the Upper Falls. On the hike back, we could see both waterfalls from some places along the trail, but they were partially obscured by the trees. From here, we continued on Helton Creek and Hatchet Creek Roads to GA-348 and took this to GA-180 and GA-75 heading back towards Helen. After a couple of miles, we ...
