    ... to the Netherlands uneventfully. Going from Schipol to Amsterdam had some challenges. We got to the platform took the second train then we had to exit it to get on a different train to get to Centraal station. We encountered rain and lots of it.     ... kayakers. After we set up our tent, at about 6pm, very cloudy now, we went hiking out to obstruction Pass. They had some hike in only sites that were superb there, only .6 of a mile in. Its amazing how that little bit thins out the crowd. They also had outhouses there too. The shore was multi-colored rocky pebbles. We rested there for a while then headed back before dark.     ... the only time on our trip we were able to get a van for all 7 of us plus luggage. One of the advantages of being in a more developed country. In my opinion, Amsterdam has some charm and I'm happy to have been there, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to return.     ... very few children on board, naturally, school having recently started. One child was the daughter of the Captain. I guess that's a small perk for Ship's Officers. The rest of us read or enhanced the casino revenues a bit. I have never won more than about $5.00 in a ship casino and don't really consider them fun at all.
